General Dentistry
Have you ever heard of a dental restoration?
We can say that we have good oral health when our teeth are free of pathologies. But unfortunately, people often have oral problems.
Dentistry is the area of dentistry focused on restoring tooth structure lost in cases of dental decay or trauma. Thus, the procedures performed by Dentistry are the famous restorations, responsible for restoring the original shape and color of the teeth.

What does dentistry do?
Caries and dental trauma damage teeth in a very particular way. Dentistry is therefore responsible for:
- Treat teeth with primary or secondary caries lesions;
- Treating fractured teeth;
- Closing diastemas (small gaps between teeth);
- Restoring endodontically treated teeth;
- Treating teeth whose shape does not please patients (small changes in shape);
- Increase the bite for occlusal stabilization.
What is tooth decay?
Tooth decay is the most common oral pathology in our society. This is a bacterial disease, but it can be caused by a number of factors. At an early stage, it is asymptomatic, which makes it more dangerous.
If not treated in time, tooth decay can lead to the destruction of teeth. This is because the bacteria turn into acids that are strong enough to demineralize tooth enamel, making small holes in the tooth surface, but which grow.

Treatment is the best option
If you know or suspect that you have tooth decay, the best solution is undoubtedly to go to a dentist who specializes in dentistry.
The advantages of treatment are
- Less risk of infection;
- Relief of tooth sensitivity and/or pain;
- Improving aesthetics and restoring functionality;
- Strengthening the tooth structure.
